New Missile Test Confirmed New Missile Test Confirmed

Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan confirmed on Wednesday that Iran has recently carried out a missile test, stressing that Tehran will not allow others to interfere in its defense affairs. "The recent test was in line with our programs and we will not allow any outsider to interfere in our defense affairs," Dehqan was quoted as saying by Tasnim News Agency. He said missile tests are by no means in contravention of the nuclear deal with major powers or UNSC Resolution 2231, which was adopted in July 2015 to endorse the agreement. The minister made it clear that missile tests are part of Iran's defense plans aimed at fulfilling its national interests. Dehqan's comments came after US officials criticized Iran on Tuesday for what they called a "provocative" and "irresponsible" measure by conducting its first missile test since the Jan. 20 inauguration of US President Donald Trump.
