Meeting with Oman on Extremism

A member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee announced on Saturday that in a recent visit of a parliamentary delegation to Muscat, Iranian and Omani officials agreed to hold a high-level joint meeting on how to deal with extremist groups in the region, ISNA reported.  Mousa Ahmadi said preliminary consultations are currently being held to make preparations for the meeting, adding that other regional countries may be invited to future meetings. He also said the parliamentary delegation held talks with Omani officials, including Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi and Chairmen of the Consultative Assembly of Oman Khalid Al Mawali, on bilateral ties, the latest regional developments, and the nuclear talks between Iran and the major powers.
