Upholding Social Justice a Nat’l Duty
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said addressing the needs of the poor and underprivileged is the main duty of the Islamic Republic. “The main task of the Islamic revolution is addressing [the needs of] the deprived and the oppressed, and paying attention to them,” Jafari said in a speech in an underdeveloped area in the vicinity of Islamshahr, near Tehran, on Monday, Tasnim News Agency reported. The commander stressed that the main goal of the Islamic establishment is to establish social justice. “In view of the emphasis laid by the Leader of Islamic Revolution on the issue, the IRGC has taken measures to alleviate deprivation across the country over the years,” he said. In September, the IRGC inaugurated 3,300 projects with the aim of alleviating deprivation.
