Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base Lieutenant General Farzad Esmaeili highlighted Iran's latest achievements in the area of air defense, declaring the country's airspace one of the safest in the world. "The Air Defense Base ensures the security of more than 1,200 flights that pass through Iran's airspace every day," Esmaeili was quoted as saying by Tasnim News Agency on Wednesday. "Iran's skies are one of the safest [in the world]," he stressed. The commander noted that air defense systems have been deployed at 3,700 points across Iran, noting that plans have been devised to increase this number to 5,000 in the next five years.
