Iran is self-sufficient in several defensive fields and will continue its progress in manufacturing different types of missiles, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Aerospace Force said. Lieutenant General Amir Ali Hajizadeh made the statement while addressing university officials and professors in Tehran on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported.   No matter what the enemies do and even if they try to impose restrictions on Iran, “we will not stop upgrading our capability, knowledge and production in defense fields, especially the missile industry”, he added. Stressing the important role played by universities and academic centers in increasing Iran’s capabilities, he said, “Thanks to God, today, we have gained self-sufficiency in various defense fields.” Hajizadeh had announced earlier this month that the country has increased the number of its ballistic missiles, while improving their precision. “In addition to enhancing the precision-striking power and quality of ballistic missiles, Iranian authorities and experts have used innovative and shortcut methods to produce inexpensive missiles and today, we are witnessing an increase in production [of ballistic missiles],” he said.
