Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has said that extremist groups pose a serious threat to the security of the region. “Takfiri groups, which have been created and supported by world powers, are seeking to cause division and promote sectarianism among various countries. All Muslims should stand up to them through maintaining vigilance and fostering unity,” Larijani said in a meeting with members of the Kuwait-Iran Friendship Association in Tehran on Monday, ICANA reported. A takfiri is a Muslim who accuses another Muslim of being an unbeliever. Elsewhere, the senior lawmaker said good neighborliness and common cultural and historical values between Iran and Kuwait are important factors which can facilitate expansion of bilateral relations in all areas.
