Nuclear Chief Meets French Counterpart

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi and CEO of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission Daniel Verwaerde discussed mutual cooperation. During the meeting in the Austrian capital Vienna on Wednesday, Salehi and Verwaerde underlined the need for boosting nuclear cooperation between Tehran and Paris, Fars News Agency reported. The senior Iranian and French nuclear officials met on the sidelines of the International Conference on Nuclear Security that is underway in Vienna. Heading a high-ranking delegation, Salehi left Tehran for Vienna last Sunday. In a relevant development in late November, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi and French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in a meeting in Paris reiterated the two countries' commitment to fully implement last year's nuclear deal between Iran and major powers.
