Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari referred to soft threats as the most dangerous type of perils facing Iran, stressing that military threats have turned into opportunities for the country. “The soft cultural, political, economic and social threats are the most dangerous threats to the Islamic Revolution,” the commander said at a conference in the northern city of Sari on Saturday, Tasnim News Agency reported. Highlighting IRGC’s serious resolve to safeguard the revolution, Jafari said Iran has already turned military threats into opportunities during the eight-year war imposed by Iraq in the 1980s. Jafari lauded Iranian security, saying even anti-revolutionary and opposition forces inside Iran appear to have lost any hope of disturbing security in the country. In recent years, Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly raised alarm at the effects of an extensive “soft war” waged by the enemies against Iran, saying one of the main objectives is to change the religious and political beliefs of people.
