Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said the legislature is considering a plan to respond to US moves that constitute non-compliance with last year’s nuclear deal between Tehran and the six world powers. Speaking to reporters in Borujerd on Thursday, the lawmaker denounced Washington’s moves that he said are in breach of the July 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. Boroujerdi said given numerous violations of the deal by the US, including a possible renewal of anti-Iran sanctions for another 10 years, the parliament is considering a plan to “ respond appropriately” to the US moves, Tasnim News Agency reported.  He did not elaborate on details of the plan.  The comments came after US lawmakers passed a bill on November 15 to extend sanctions on Iran for another 10 years. The US House of Representatives voted 419 to one for a 10-year reauthorization of the Iran Sanctions Act, a law first adopted in 1996 to target Iran’s energy industry. The bill needs approval by the senate and president to become law.
