Terror Cell Busted in Eastern Iran

Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari announced that a terrorist cell was dismantled in the eastern parts of Iran on Monday night.

"Last night, a terrorist team was disbanded by the Intelligence Ministry in eastern Iran," Zolfaqari said on Tuesday, Fars News Agency reported.

"The team comprised four members, one of whom was killed and three others were arrested."

Zolfaqari noted that security forces seized the ammunition of terrorists.

In a relevant development last week, the Intelligence Ministry announced that its forces had dismantled a terrorist outfit affiliated to the self-styled Islamic State terrorist group in the city of Garmsar in Semnan Province before they could carry out sabotage acts inside Iran.

The ministry said the terrorists intended to use two tons of explosives to carry out bomb attacks in at least 10 locations across the country.
