In a letter to parliament speakers of other countries on Saturday, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said it is necessary that the parliaments of the world’s countries take action to prevent the Israeli regime’s criminal actions against the Palestinians. Larijani said the Zionist regime has stepped up the Judaization of al-Quds (Jerusalem), tightened the blockade of the Gaza Strip and increased measures to “terrorize and intimidate” the defenseless Palestinian people. “It is imperative that the parliaments of countries, as representatives of the public opinion, take actions, such as convening special meetings and issuing statements and resolutions in condemnation of the inhumane actions of the Zionist regime,” he said. In addition, Larijani, as the president of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, expressed the PUIC’s readiness to make every effort to support the Palestinian people and prevent further violation of human rights by the Zionist regime.
