Air Defense Deters Threats Beyond Borders

Iran’s air defense base possesses advanced gear that enables it to detect and act against threats well before they can approach the country’s airspace, a top commander said.
“Iran’s air defense systems have been designed to detect threats before they come close to the borders and take immediate tactical action,” Lieutenant General Farzad Esmaeili said on Tuesday, Tasnim News Agency reported. The commander also stressed that his forces rely on domestically-developed systems. “The country’s air defense strategies are devised with an eye to modern threats,” he said. Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere. Last month, the Defense Ministry unveiled new aerial navigation and tracking systems, including two military radars.
