Greetings to Turkmenistan on Independence Day

President Hassan Rouhani in a message to his Turkmen counterpart congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the 25th anniversary of the nation's independence from the Soviet Union. In a message on Thursday to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Rouhani expressed confidence that amicable relations between Tehran and Ashgabat will expand in light of serious efforts by the two countries' officials, Tasnim News Agency reported. The Independence Day of Turkmenistan is the main state holiday of the Central Asian country, which is celebrated annually on October 27. Iran and its northeastern neighbor are determined to enhance ties and boost bilateral trade to $60 billion in a 10-year period. In March 2015, the two countries signed 17 cooperation documents in economic, cultural, political, legal, scientific and technological fields during a visit to Ashgabat by Rouhani.
