The international community and world powers should make an effort to work with each other, instead of against each other, to compensate for the historical mistakes that have led to the current conflicts across the world, the chairman of Iran's Expediency Council said.  In a meeting with Second President of the National Council of Austria Karlheinz Kopf in Tehran on Monday, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani added that if world powers stop making harmful political decisions and adopt the intention to bring back peace to the region, Iran is ready and willing to share its valuable experience in fighting terrorism, IRNA reported. Kopf described the aims and agenda of his trip and said the 140-year relationship between Tehran and Vienna calls for the resumption of ties now that the sanctions have been lifted. International sanctions against Tehran were lifted after the conclusion of the historic nuclear deal between Iran and major powers in Vienna last year. The Austrian official also praised Tehran's role in negotiations over the Syrian civil war and named Iran as a stabilizing force in the conflict-stricken Middle East.
