The ambassador to the United Nations said on Thursday Iran supports security and stability in neighboring Afghanistan.
Addressing a UN General Assembly meeting on Afghanistan, Hossein Dehqani also expressed satisfaction with Afghan people’s high turnout in the recent presidential election in the country despite threats made by extremist and terrorist groups. The Islamic Republic invites all political groups in Afghanistan to cooperate with one another within the framework of the constitution and with the aim of defending independence and territorial integrity and promoting national unity to bring peace and progress to the country, he said.
