Experts at Iran’s Air Force for the first time overhauled a Mirage fighter jet’s on-board oxygen generation system.

The OBOGS system is one of the sensitive sections of Mirage fighters, which adjusts the oxygen level of the pilot’s cockpit at different altitudes, Fars News Agency reported.

The project was implemented for the first time by the Iranian Air Force experts.

Back in 2013, experts at Shahid Nasser Habibi air base in northeastern Iran managed to overhaul two Mirage F-1 fighter jets.

The two aircraft joined the Air Force fleet after making their maiden flights.

Also, in 2014, Iran unveiled and launched its first indigenous Mirage fighter jet simulator in a military ceremony.

The Mirage simulator system was designed and built by Iranian engineers and all its parts were produced domestically.

Military officials said the machine is capable of simulating flights in different weather conditions.
