Belgian Parliamentary Delegation to Visit

A parliamentary delegation from the Foreign Relations Committee of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives is to visit Tehran next Saturday.

ICANA reported on Saturday the Belgian lawmakers will stay in Tehran for five days to discuss bilateral relations with Iranian lawmakers and other officials.

The trip comes at the invitation of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi. On April 27, another Belgian parliamentary delegation, headed by President of Belgium’s Senate Christine Defraigne arrived in Iran to discuss Tehran-Brussels ties. Defraigne sat down with President Hassan Rouhani, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Chairman of Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the head of the Center for Strategic Research, Ali Akbar Velayati, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi and a number of other officials during the five-day visit.
