A senior lawmaker condemned the Saturday attacks by US warplanes on the Syrian Army positions, saying that it is yet another proof of the US support for terrorist groups. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, told ICANA on Sunday that the Syrian Army should take countermeasures against the US.  The Russian Defense Ministry said US jets had killed more than 60 Syrian soldiers surrounded by the self-styled Islamic State terrorist group in the Deir al-Zor air base, in four air strikes by two F-16s and two A-10s coming from the direction of Iraq.   Immediately after the US attacks, IS launched a major offensive in the region and briefly took control of it before Syrian forces managed to retake it. Boroujerdi also criticized Russia for the ceasefire deal it brokered with the US, saying Russia should not have trusted the US that backs terrorists operating in Syria.  The lawmaker said Russia should “take serious action against terrorists” to reduce the damage inflicted on Syrian forces. The US-Russia brokered deal was announced last Friday and took effect on Monday.
