Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Hoshyar Zebari has highlighted the importance of close relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, saying closer ties between the two regional powers will affect the situation in Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.
Former Iraqi foreign minister made the remarks in an interview with the Al Watan newspaper, ISNA reported on Tuesday.
He said the relations between Tehran and Riyadh have a direct bearing on the whole region, adding that Iraq has encouraged the two countries to hold dialogue to improve their relationship.
