Foreign ministers from countries involved in reaching the landmark Iran nuclear deal will get together on September 22 in New York on the sidelines of the annual session of the UN General Assembly, ISNA said, quoting an informed Iranian source.

The upcoming talks are the first at the ministerial level after the accord was implemented on January 16 to grant Tehran sanctions relief in return for rolling back its nuclear program.

It had emerged six months earlier from two years of negotiations between Iran and the six world powers, namely the US, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany.

Their political directors and deputy foreign ministers will also attend a meeting of the Joint Commission on September 21, the source said.

The commission is a panel of representatives from all JCPOA participants tasked under the pact to monitor it and address issues arising from its implementation.

It will be the fifth time that the panel convenes after the accord, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, to follow up on discussions about how to address obstacles to its implementation.
