UN Aid Official Arrives

United Nations Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Stephen O'Brien met Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli in Tehran on Sunday. The officials discussed collaboration on providing humanitarian aid to conflict-hit nations in the region, among other issues of mutual concern, IRNA reported. The UN official will also hold talks with other Iranian officials regarding development of collaboration regarding distribution of aid and emergency relief in the region. Boosting relations between Iran and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is among the main aims of O'Brien's two-day trip to Tehran. Omani Interior Minister Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al-Busaidi was also due to meet with Fazli on Sunday. Broadening mutual economic, commercial and security relations between the two countries will be on the agenda of the meeting.
