IRGC Arrests Iranian-American National

Islamic Revolution Guards Corps' forces arrested an individual with Iranian-American nationality in the northeastern province of Golestan. According to the IRGC's Neinava Base in the provincial capital Gorgan, the forces managed to identify the individual upon his arrival in the country in late July, Tasnim News Agency reported. Later, following intelligence and security measures, the suspect was arrested and handed over to the province's judiciary officials. The report added that the Iranian-American citizen has been detained on charges of cooperation with countries hostile to Iran, acting against national security and having links with anti-revolutionary elements and media. Back in August, intelligence forces arrested another dual citizen who was linked to Britain's foreign intelligence service MI6. Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi said at the time that the suspect had been active in economic and business activities.
