Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday visited an exhibition of the achievements of the Defense Ministry.
The achievements included “advanced, indigenized and knowledge-based” technologies developed by Iranians, which can help improve the armed forces’ “combat capabilities”, according to the official website of the Leader.
The results of the latest efforts to design and manufacture state-of-the-art missile, radar, maritime, optical, armored, drone and communications systems were also put on display.
Ayatollah Khamenei was briefed on the capabilities and features of domestically-developed short, medium and long-range air defense systems.
After the visit to the exhibition, which lasted two hours, the Leader addressed the Defense Ministry’s officials, researchers and experts.
He stressed the need to continue efforts to boost the military prowess, noting that “increasing the defensive and offensive power is the country’s inalienable right.”
“In a world that the bullying powers … show no mercy and openly bombard wedding ceremonies and hospitals under the pretext of fighting terrorism and kill hundreds of innocent people and do not feel compelled to account [for their actions] to any [international] organization and institution, the defense capacity needs to be bolstered so that these powers feel a sense of threat.”
The Leader added that except for weapons of mass destruction, which are banned due to religious principles, there is no limit on expansion of the defense industry.
