A high-ranking diplomat responded to questions of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program.
Abbas Araqchi, who is the head of Foreign Ministry's office for the implementation of the July 2015 nuclear deal, also told IRNA on Sunday that he was in parliament earlier in the day to explain details of a recent report by the Foreign Ministry on JCPOA.
According to the law, the Foreign Ministry must report to the Majlis commission on the implementation of the accord every three months.
"A 41-page report has been delivered, in which the achievements, problems and bad promises are described in detail," he said, who is also a deputy foreign minister.
"The commission invited me to provide it with more explanation on the report."
Araqchi said the commission will also invite officials from banks, the Economy Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to give information on the implementation of the deal between Iran and P5+1 (the US, Britain, France, Russia and China, plus Germany), under which the UN, EU and US were obliged to remove their nuclear sanctions on Iran.
The Majlis commission is tasked with monitoring the proper implementation of JCPOA and must submit a report to Majlis Presiding Board every six months.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the parliamentary commission, said on Friday that the report will be presented to Majlis Presiding Board "within one month".
The parliamentarian said a delegation from the commission was to visit Natanz and Fordo nuclear sites on Monday and its findings would be included in the report.
Months after the deal came into force in January, Iranian officials still complain about the other side's failure to fully meet its commitments under the agreement.
