A senior official said rooting out the scourge of terrorism in the world is only possible through the sincere efforts of the international community to cut off terrorist groups' access to financial resources, weapons and new recruits. Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani made the above statement in a letter to National Security Advisor of Pakistan Nasser Khan Janjua. He offered condolences to the Pakistani government and nation over a bomb explosion in a major hospital in Quetta in Pakistan's Balochistan on Monday. Shamkhani stressed the need for increasing cooperation among regional states to deal with the root causes of terrorism spreading in the region.  Pakistani media reports said over 60 people were killed and dozens were injured when the bomb went off in the emergency ward of the hospital.
