Army Commander Lieutenant General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said his forces are scheduled to hold three war games in different parts of the country by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2017). Speaking to reporters in Mashhad on Thursday, Pourdastan said the military exercises are to be held in the southeastern, southwestern and central areas, Tasnim News Agency reported. He reassured the nation that full security prevails along the borders, thanks to the broad protective measures by the army, including the multilayered stationing of forces. Earlier in April, the top commander had unveiled plans for 17 specialized drills in addition to the main war games for practicing tactics involving missiles, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, modern warfare, airborne and hostage rescue operations and preparation for crises and natural disasters.
