Croatian Parliament Speaker Zeljko Reiner in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador in Zagreb Mohammad Reza Sadeq called for expansion of mutual interactions.

“Parliamentary relations between Iran and Croatia are exemplary and the two countries should also boost the level of cooperation in other areas,” Reiner was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.

The top Croatian lawmaker pointed to the recent visit of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic to Iran and said, “The two countries’ relations have improved since the visit of President Grabar-Kitarovic to Iran in May.” During her trip to Tehran, Grabar-Kitarovic held a meeting with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, in which the two sides underlined the necessity of broadening trade and economic ties.

“Iran and Croatia should use the potential provided by the July 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers to widen the prospect of economic cooperation,” Larijani said at the time.
