Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Wednesday called for "decisive measures" against Israel's aggressive actions.
In a message addressing the regional and international parliamentary unions, Larijani, who is the current president of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) conference, condemned recent aggressive and expansionist actions of the Zionist regime in al-Quds and called on heads of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), the Latin American Parliament and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) to adopt "decisive measures" against the offensive actions of the regime.
According to IRNA, the Majlis speaker said in the message, "The ongoing developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the acts of aggression committed by the Israeli hardliners and army against Al-Aqsa Mosque are indicative of their expansionist and brutal nature."
The massage reads in part that the preplanned and racist acts of aggression are aimed at the complete occupation and Judaization of al-Quds, adding the fact that the Zionist regime continues its actions despite widespread international condemnations indicates that the Zionists are inclined to blatantly violate international law, the UN resolutions, and human rights.
He reiterated, "The world's public opinion, particularly in European countries as the main supporters of Israel, has become aware of (Israel's actions) through witnessing the Zionists' atrocities in the occupied territories."
"It is necessary for the regional and international parliamentary unions, representing the world's public opinion, to take the required measures, such as holding joint meetings and issuing statements and resolutions, to condemn the inhumane conduct of the Zionists and support the defenseless Palestinians."
Larijani expressed his readiness, on behalf of the PUIC, to hold joint meetings with other regional and international parliamentary unions and assemblies to discuss the Palestinian issue.
