Iran's ambassador in Ankara highlighted the significant role Iran and Turkey can play in coordinating the fight against terrorism and extremism in the region. "The effective battle against terrorism and extremism comes through the unity of Islamic countries," Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian added, stressing that Tehran and Ankara play central roles in the process. Taherian made the statements in a meeting with Mehmet Gormez, the head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, the official religious institution of Turkey, Tasnim News Agency reported. The Turkish official said concerted action and cooperation will help promote regional peace and stability.
