Bahrain Crisis Could Worsen

A senior advisor to the foreign minister underlined that Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's endorsement of the decision to revoke the citizenship of senior Shia cleric Sheikh Issa Qassim over allegations that he sought to foment sectarian unrest would deepen the crisis in the tiny Persian Gulf Arab state.  "The Bahraini king's endorsement … will undoubtedly push the country toward a new phase of internal crisis and confrontation against the people," Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, a former envoy in Manama, told Fars News Agency on Monday.
