Islamic Revolution Guards Corps forces have clashed with Kurdish militants who had penetrated a northwestern village to stage terrorist operations. The confrontation took place in a village in the Mahabad County of West Azarbaijan Province, Press TV reported. An IRGC member, who asked not to be named, said Saturday the forces engaged the terrorists around Bengovin Village and the clashes were continuing. "IRGC forces are still in the area and are trying to clear it [of militants]." Militants had last week clashed with the IRGC in the Oshnavieh County, in the same border province.
