The chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee says the “main challenge” in the talks between Iran and the major powers on a final nuclear deal is “excessive demands of western countries led by the United States.“If the Americans make reasonable demands, the negotiations will yield results in a short period of time,” Alaeddin Boroujerdi told Iranian television late on Sunday. He denied the allegation that Iran may have been seeking to develop the capability to build nuclear weapons and said based on the Leader’s fatwa, which bans the production, stockpiling, and use of weapons of mass destruction, Iran will never be in pursuit of nuclear weapons.
