The Interior Ministry gave assurances at the weekend that full security prevails along the borders, describing the strict clampdown on terrorist teams in some border areas in recent days as a testimony to the preparedness of the armed forces.

Speaking to Tasnim News Agency on Saturday, the ministry spokesman, Hossein Ali Amiri said all the borders are safe, including the northwestern border areas that recently witnessed armed clashes with terrorist groups.

"Anti-security moves are being monitored by the security forces across the country," he said.

His comments came after three successive operations against terror outfits along the borders in the past week.

On June 13, troops from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force killed five members of the Party for Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) terrorist group in an ambush in Sardasht region in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan.

On the same day, police forces killed five members of the Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group in an exchange of fire in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, while a trooper was also martyred. And on June 15, IRGC forces killed a number of rebels in clashes with two terrorist teams trying to penetrate the Oshnavieh border area near the border with Iraq.
