President Hassan Rouhani said the three branches of government are determined to implement the Resistance Economy as a top priority.

He made the statement in a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday after a meeting with Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and the judiciary chief, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, ICANA reported.

Rouhani said sticking to the guidelines of the Resistance Economy will help promote Iran's economic development, boost its scientific power and check unemployment.

Resistance Economy is a set of policies recommended by the Leader of Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei to promote self-reliance and wean the country off heavy dependence on oil export revenues.

Rouhani said the three officials also discussed the opportunities created by the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, which removed the international sanctions and eased Tehran's access to the global financial system.

"The heads of the three branches stressed that we should invest added effort to help attract foreign investment and transfer new technology [to Iran]," he said.

They also exchanged views on the proposed sixth economic development plan [2016-21], expressing hope that it would be finalized soon.

The president said regional conflicts were also discussed by the heads of the three branches, and lamented the fact that the massive bloodshed had not stopped in Iraq, Syria and other countries.

Rouhani said Tehran will continue to assist the Iraqi and Syrian governments in their fight against terrorism, hoping peace will be restored to the two Arab states soon.
