Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the navy plans to unveil new domestically developed surface and subsurface vessels. "Advanced surface and subsurface vessels manufactured by the Iranian Navy will be unveiled" in the current year that started in March, Sayyari told reporters in the southern port city of Bushehr on Tuesday, according to Tasnim News Agency. The navy's 41st flotilla has been deployed to international waters to help ensure security of Iranian commercial vessels, namely oil tankers, and counter piracy in the high seas.
