The Russian Ambassador in Tehran Levan Jagarian said his country has reached preliminary agreements with Iran on the purchase of heavy water. “Basic agreements have been made in this regard and details, including financial and technical details, which are complex, should be discussed,” Jagarian said in an interview with Fars News Agency. “Negotiations still continue,” he said without elaboration. Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi recently said, “We are in talks with the Russians to sell 40 tons of heavy water”.
