EU Denies Secret Letter

A senior official with the European Union denied media reports that the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has sent a secret letter to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.
“EU denies any secret letter,” the official told Tasnim News Agency on Monday on condition of anonymity.
In similar remarks on Sunday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari also denied reports that Zarif had received a secret letter from Mogherini.
Unsubstantiated reports last week said that Mogherini had sent Zarif a secret letter, saying the P5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) has lived up to all of its commitments under the nuclear deal with Iran, and that the outstanding problems in financial and banking ties with Tehran have nothing to do with their commitments under the accord.
