In a message released on Monday, President Hassan Rouhani extended congratulations to new Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, expressing hope that during Quang's term, bilateral relations would be upgraded. "I express my satisfaction with the cordial relations between Iran and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and hope that we will witness further expansion of mutual relations in political, economic and cultural spheres in view of the will of officials [to boost ties]," the message read. Vietnam's Parliament swore in Quang as president in April, IRNA reported.
