Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and Sergei Kiriyenko, head of Russian state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom, reviewed issues pertaining to the implementation of the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers. At a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, Kamalvandi and Kiriyenko also explored ways for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear technology, Tasnim News Agency reported. Heading a delegation of AEOI officials, Kamalvandi arrived in Moscow on Tuesday for a two-day visit. The two sides highlighted the importance of Tehran and Moscow’s deeper interaction in the implementation of the nuclear accord. Tehran and P5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain and France, plus Germany) on July 14, 2015, concluded the deal on Tehran’s nuclear program and started implementing it on January 16. In addition, the two officials exchanged views on setting a date to start the construction of the second Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in southern Iran. Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei and Rosatom’s Deputy Director General for International Affairs Nikolai Spassky also attended the meeting.
