Envoy Censures West’s Double Standards on Terrorism

Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei censured certain western countries for their double-standard approach toward terrorism, saying their policy has provoked discontent among Middle East nations.
Speaking at the International Likhachov Scientific Conference at St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences on Friday, Sanaei emphasized that the West is not supporting popular demands in some Middle East countries, Tasnim News Agency reported.
He said the West’s double standards have provoked discontent among regional nations and governments.
The Iranian diplomat noted that foreign intervention in the internal affairs of some Middle East countries has worsened regional problems, adding that the problems should be addressed by regional countries not outsiders.
The International Likhachov Scientific Conference, first held in May 1995, was initiated by Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachov and other professors at Saint Petersburg University.
