Canada Urged to Change Approach

A senior diplomat called on the new Canadian government to show in practice that its approach to Iran differs from that of its conservative predecessor. Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said on Sunday the two sides have established contacts to pave the way for resumption of ties, which were severed by Canada in 2012, IRNA reported. Ottawa needs to abandon previous policies both "in words and action", he said.
