The deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs told IRNA on Thursday that Tehran and Moscow will continue their support for Syria. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian rejected any “military and security solution” to the Syria crisis and called for a “political solution” to the issue. Collective support by the countries in the region for a country which has become the target of terrorists’ invasion benefits all regional countries and governments, he said, adding that Iran will follow this path “seriously” and “powerfully”. Elsewhere, he said if it had not been for the resistance of the Syrian government and people against plotters and terrorists, “the world would have witnessed the rule of terrorists in Damascus.”
