Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei warned terrorists of the heavy price they are going to pay for attacking forces in Syria’s Khan Tuman. In a post on his Instagram page, Rezaei, himself an IRGC general, vowed a harsh response to terrorists for their attack on Iranian military advisers in Khan Tuman, Tasnim News Agency reported. He also slammed Saudi Arabia and Turkey for providing military support to the militants fighting the Syrian government and misusing the declared ceasefire in the region for conducting surprise raids against the Syrian village and killing Syrian forces and Iranian advisers. Rezaei paid tribute to the “heroes” from Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran that were martyred in the attack, saying their courage evokes memories of eight years of defense in the 1980-88 Iraq-imposed war against Iran. In an attack by terrorists in Khan Tuman on Friday, 13 IRGC military advisers were martyred and 21 others wounded, the IRGC said in a statement on Saturday. Iran, a close ally of Syria, has been supporting the Syrian government in the fight against terrorists.
