Iran is ready to help the global community build nuclear power plants, according to a top official who said Iran would be home to seven nuclear plants by 2020.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, announced on Friday that Iran has the technology and know-how to help nations build nuclear power plants.
“Iran is currently holding talks with a number of countries aimed at cementing new deals to build new nuclear plants,” Kamalvandi was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency. “Besides the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and two other plants being constructed in Iran, four others will be built by 2020,” Kamalvandi said.
Iran has been working with Russia to construct several new nuclear plants in the country.
Following the implementation of last year’s comprehensive nuclear agreement between Tehran and six major powers (the US, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany), Iran has made moves to expand its nuclear trade.
