Iran could face more sanctions from the United States if it failed to reach a long-term nuclear deal with the major powers by the November 24 target date, dpa quoted German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier as saying on Monday. Steinmeier said Iran and the six major powers - Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany - were closer than ever to a deal after 10 years of negotiations.  “We are able to make an offer which is difficult for Iran to reject, if they want a solution,” he said. “If we are failing or not able to make a final deal, I‘m afraid then the American mid-term elections will take place, and without an agreement the American institutions will take new decisions about sanctions against Iran.” If that happens and new sanctions are decided, I think within the last two years of (US President Barack) Obama‘s (term) it will be without any chance for reviving negotiations with Iran.”
