UN Approval Not Needed for Su-30 Deal

A source at Russia's Foreign Ministry said the United Nations "approval" is not needed for the sale of Su-30 fighter jets to Iran, stressing that the "weapons embargo against Tehran no longer exists." "The Russian side has filed no applications with the United Nations Security Council for approval of sales of Su-30 fighter jets to Iran. There is no such item on the agenda," the source said on Tuesday as cited by Russian news agency TASS.
