JCPOA Offers Benefits to Mideast

Iran’s deputy representative to the United Nations said the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, a landmark nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, provides a good opportunity to bring about security and economic boom to the Middle East. “The JCPOA is an opportunity for the entire international community, particularly for regional countries who can take advantage of the accord to strengthen security and development in the Middle East,” Gholamhossein Dehqani said on Tuesday, according to Tasnim News Agency. Dehqani made the statements at a meeting held by the UN Security Council to brief the member states on the implementation of UN Resolution 2231 that endorses the nuclear deal between Iran and P5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain and France, plus Germany). Spain’s ambassador to the UN was in charge of the session. He has been appointed as the facilitator of implementing Resolution 2231 and should present biannual reports to UNSC members on the enforcement of the deal.
