Reformist leader Mohammad Reza Aref, whose camp made major gains in the Friday parliamentary polls, said the economy, along with peace with other Muslim countries, were two pillars of the reformists' platform in support of President Hassan Rouhani's administration. In comments to the Wall Street Journal published on Monday, Aref also said the success of reformists in the elections was a product of design, not luck, as moderates and reformists set aside their differences to take on the conservatives.
