The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps will hold a missile exercise in the coming weeks, chairman of the General Staff of Armed Forces announced on Monday.

Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said, “[His office] has approved and ordered that a missile exercise be held by the IRGC in the first half of [the Iranian] month of Esfand [starting Feb. 20] involving specialized units with the aim of maintaining military preparedness and upgrading missile capabilities of the armed forces,” ISNA reported.

Tasnim News Agency quoted Commander of IRGC’s Aerospace Force Lieutenant General Amir Ali Hajizadeh as saying that his forces are going to receive two types of advanced domestically developed ballistic missiles in the near future.

“The IRGC will begin receiving Emad ballistic missiles early next Iranian year (beginning March 20),” Hajizadeh told reporters in Mashhad on Sunday.

“The IRGC will be also equipped with a new type of the solid-fuel long-range Sejjil missile”.
