The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran unveiled plans for cooperation with France in the nuclear field, saying several other countries are also eager to work with Iran in the field after the implementation of the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.

“Talks have been held with France on nuclear cooperation,” Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of AEOI, told YJC news agency on Saturday. “There is a mega project in France, called ITER, and preparations have been made for [nuclear] cooperation [with ITER],” he added, but did not elaborate on the program. Salehi said the list of countries that have expressed readiness to launch nuclear collaboration with Iran includes South Korea, Japan and China, noting that Italy and Germany have also voiced readiness to work with Iran in scientific fields. Growing interest in nuclear cooperation with Iran follows the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the official title of the nuclear accord, which took effect on January 16.
